Best Place for Free Materials
Internet is part of everyone’s life unless you live under a rock. If you do live under a rock, please feel free to step out and see what you are missing. Today I will be talking about the one place where everything is FREE!
If you have not already guessed it, it is called the Library.
Benefits of a library
At my local library, we only get free books and DVDs but also free Internet. Internet can end up costing you anywhere from $19-$60. If you are looking for one with a decent speed, you will shell out about $40/month. This equates to $480 ($40 * 12 months) per year.
Also, the library is a great place to study. I personally get all my work done at the library, including this article you are currently reading. I did a case study and asked a few of my friends and strangers, what is the purpose of the library? Here are some of the responses:
A place to hang out and study.
Where you can get free books to read.
We have a library in town? Do you know where it is?
A quiet place to relax and get some reading done.
Save money.
These were just a few of the responses I received. As you can see, most of them did not know that the library had free DVDS and free Internet. Having said that, it depends on the person and their economic situation. Some people are fortunate enough to have everything they want at home (i.e Internet, DVDs, etc) but there are others that are not so fortunate. I am fortunate enough to afford Internet at home and buy DVDS but why buy them when they are offered to you for FREE.
I pose the same question to you: What is the purpose of the library?

We get all of our DVD rentals from our library. As long as you are patient and can wait for a particular movie – you just can’t beat it. I like the free internet as well but still have DSL at home for the convenience.

@pfincome I totally agree with you. Sometimes it is hard to get ahold of a certain DVD but that is why they have the hold system. Nothing beats free
