Invest in yourself
The economy is not going to turn around any time soon but when it does, are you ready to compete with others in the job market?
If you have a four year bachelor’s degree, you are in the playing field. However, there are people out there that have bachelor’s and a master’s degree. The best way to get ahead in the game is to start investing yourself.
Go back to school
If you do not have a bachelor’s degree, I suggest you go back to school. In the coming years, a bachelor’s degree will be a bare minimum if you want a decent paying job.
Get a job
I know the economy is bad but any other is better than no job at all. The reason you want to get a job is because you will not have a gap in your work history. Also, when you work, you meet new people. These new people can be the key in finding your next job.
Picking the right career
Studenomics has a great article on choosing the right college program. I was originally a pre-med major before switching to an accounting major. I did not do the proper research that I needed to do before going to college. Make sure you do not make the same mistake.
Are you investing in yourself or just letting life pass you by?

I gotta agree with Shabash, without a bachelors, you are not going to get far at all these days. From my experience, many now are going back to get their MBA’s just to get a better advantage in the tight job market.

Great points. Education is always a great investment. You can’t go wrong with getting more certifications or more tools of the trade.

@Shabash It is never too late to go back to school.
@Aman Great point. In 5-10 years from now, MBAs will be the norm for employers looking to hire.
@John P Best investment in my mind is education. The only way to go is up!
Great points everyone!

I took a different look at the story. Regardless of whether you build your business online or off, it takes determination, hard work, and confidence to succeed. You have to be willing to put in the effort to make it, and not give up because someone tells you no.

@MLDina Great points. In anything you do, you need to put 100 % of your effort into it. You do not want to look back year later and say I could have done better. Give 100 % every time.
