Why you should spend money

I know the whole mentality of everyone right now is to save, save, save. I can understand that but what are you saving for? Is it to buy a bigger house or a nicer car? You can still live life comfortably no matter how big your house is or the car you drive.

A good friend of mine had a friend who saved as much of her money as she could during her 20s. We will call her Mary. This past weekend, she was involved in a car accident and is now in critical condition at the hospital. There is a 90% chance that she will be paralyzed. What good is that money that she saved? After speaking with my friend, I found out that Mary wanted to travel the world and go skydiving. Will she be able to do that now?

The point I am trying to get across is that live your life to the fullest. Your bank balance can go down once in a while. The reason you save is that you can enjoy your life more. Enjoy it while you can. Life is too short. If there is that trip you want to take in a few years from now, take it now. You cannot guarantee the future. You should life day by day and be happy as you can possible be.

Note: When I say spend some money, I am talking about small amounts. Small amounts vary person to person depending on their financial situation. Do not go crazy and spend half of your savings. You still need a roof under your head and pay your bills. All I am saying is half some fun along the way. Cheers!
